Stephen A. Ducey, MD

Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy of the Shoulder and Knee


Dr. Ducey specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee. He has helped many athletes and “weekend athletes” with procedures such as arthroscopic rotator cuff repair and anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.


Well known in the area due to his extensive involvement in local sports programs, Dr. Ducey is currently the team physician for Kearny High School. He has also lent his expertise to the Rochester Red Wings AA baseball team, the Rochester American Hockey League and the Rochester Nighthawks Lacrosse team. An athlete in his own right, Dr. Ducey has successfully completed several marathons with impressive standings.


Dr. Ducey received his MD from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Wake Forest University. He completed his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and his fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Rochester.


Dr. Ducey is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgeons of New Jersey, the Medical Society of New Jersey, the Essex County Medical Society and the Practitioners Club.
